ISO 14001

We have implemented an environmental management system according to the requirements of ISO 14001, committing ourselves to the following, among other things:

• Defining an internal environmental policy
• Implementing, documenting and continuously developing our environmental objectives
• Meeting all legal obligations
• Using energy and resources efficiently
• Regularly training our employees

We continuously pursue and document the successful implementation of our objectives and measures. Furthermore we undergo external audits by accredited certification companies.

These are the key areas of our environmental management:

• Reduce emissions
• Efficient use of energy
• Avoid waste

Our environmental commitment is shown exemplary by the following activities:

• Installation of a heat recovery system in a new building taking an existing hall into account
• Roof insulation and tiling of existing halls
• Transition to a state-of-the-art dry filtration system for suction air from our grinding shop including air return to production sites
• Installation of heat exchangers at the hot water supply and floor heating compressors in the social rooms
• Use of green energy from 100 % hydropower
• Optimization of waste situation and disposal
• Joint project with the Association of German Spring Industry (VDFI) and the Technical University of Ilmenau on energy saving in heat treatment of springs
